I live a good part of the year on the Atlantic Ocean.  The constantly changing effects of the light on the water and  the reflections in the water has had a profound influence on my work.  There are not enough hours in the day to paint them all!!!

Solo artist show featuring new work inspired by my southern travels. 

This is a collection of lanscape paintings. Most of these paintings are of places from my everyday life. It was the light effect that made them special and made me want to paint them. Others of these paintings are from places that I encountered on my travels with my husband.

Even when I am painting still life it is the effect the light has on the subject that draws me to it and makes me want to paint it. The major difference is that I control the light.

Recently, I have been enjoying adding figurative pieces to my work.  As long as I remember to "paint the shapes" that I see, everything seems to work fine.  The problems arrise when I forget and try to paint a nose or a mouth.  Naming the shapes causes my left brain to kick in and the next thing I know I am painting smiley faces from my childhood.
